About

By no means am I an expert in religion, politics, military affairs or practical ministry, but I do have my experience and convictions to guide me as I discuss my views on ministering to military families.   While in Iraq during OIF1, I felt compelled to finish my active duty commitment, go to seminary and make the transition from line officer to chaplain.  Currently, I am a student at Truett Theological Seminary (Baylor), an Army Chaplain Candidate, and work at First Baptist Belton as the Minister to Military Families.  During this time I have seen and experienced the need for the local church to get involved with some sort of strategic ministry that focuses on the unique needs of today’s military family.  I believe God is moving through our military to further His kingdom, and I’m excited to see what He has in store!

If you have an interest in learning more about military ministry in the context of your church, please leave your comments and continue to check back on this continuous discussion.

It is such a blessing to see this work and mission for military families. Thank you for the incredible things you are doing to support them.

I wanted to let you know about a prayer packet that has been created to link a prayer partner with the soldier being deployed. It is a devotional packet on Psalm 91, and includes a soldier’s packet: camouflaged bandanna with Psalm 91, and laminated pocket-sized prayer/scripture cards to read each day and be encouraged.

I am linking prayer partners with soldiers, and look for churches carrying out this ministry. What a blessing to have found your website. May the Lord continue to empower you and give provision for every aspect of your ministry.

God’s peace to you,

Janet

Excited to share my website ministry with you. After two deployment experiences “back home” away from a military installation, my passion is to equip churches for military ministry.

Hello, I just discovered your web site when I was searching the web for scripture to put in our prayer request for military members at our church. My girl friend and I have started a military family ministry at our local church. It has been a bit of a struggle, but we are not going to give up. Reading your web site has encouraged me. I have become an army mom and army wife now. I have felt a need at our church that there needs to be support for military families left at home as well as their loved ones who are active duty. I will keep in touch. thank you. nancy humes

Glad to find your Web site today! I’m the author of Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives, which I believe Keri Hartwick has purchased for the military wives in your church. I’d like to let you know about my new Web site: http://www.faithdeployed.com where I offer support and articles for military wives. Please take a look and consider adding it to your BlogRoll or list of Web sites somewhere. Thanks!
